Since the beginning of this year, 24 condos have sold in downtown Tacoma. There are currently 75 listed on the MLS and 18 listed as pending. This has meant that prices have continued to get more and more reasonable for buyers of Downtown Tacoma Real Estate. I made a little chart of which buildings have had sales in Downtown Tacoma in 2011. Voila! Continue Reading →
Sky Terrace is one of the most unique condo buildings in Tacoma. Originally built in 1962 as apartments, they were remodeled and converted to condos in 2004. The architecture of this 8 story reinforced concrete structure is pure 60′s awesomeness. When I first moved downtown I called this “The Star Trek Building.” Continue Reading →
There are a lot of options for searching for Tacoma Real Estate- whether it be condos or houses. When I bought my first house back in 2004, I was absolutely without loyalty when it came to websites. I was hungry for info and deals and I almost never used my agents comany’s website. I had several favorites that I used. I would go from Zillow, to John L Scott, to Coldwell Banker, to Red Fin- then I would email those listings to my agent and off we’d go! Whenever those companies would try to capture my info, I would just make something up.
I find that my clients these days operate much the same way. As a Realtor, I pay for access to the MLS and this means that my information is more up to date than that of public search engines- but the information on public websites is still VERY GOOD. My company, Windermere, has a great search tool, but I also recognize that there are a lot of other great options out there.
I guess what I’m saying is, I don’t care where my clients search for homes online, as long as they come home to me!
Here are some sites I recommend for daydreaming and looking at house info at work: Continue Reading →
If you’re looking for a cute house under $200,000 close to a fun and active business district, you might want to check out this post on Joint Base Living about Central Tacoma:
This proximity to the North End and 6th Avenue, as well as the attractive prices mean that the secret of Central Tacoma is starting to get out. Historic homes on quiet tree lined streets can be found for tens of thousands less than similar homes in the area, and this has meant that even in this difficult market, homes in Central Tacoma have been selling well. -Central Tacoma offers Neighborhood Charm Near 6th Ave – Jointbaseliving.com
I do a little blogging for other blogs around town. One of the blogs I write for is Joint Base Living, a blog dedicated to providing information for military families stationed at JBLM. This article was one of those posts!
Oh yeah. I’m going there. Long ago, before I was a Real Estate Agent, I was unaware that people carpeted bathrooms. It had never even occured to me to do this. The first time I saw it (A midcentury home with shag green carpet in the master bathroom) I giggled and stared. “Really!?” This is pretty much the reaction of buyers when we walk into a bathroom with carpet on the floor.
I get the pull. Something nice and soft on your feet when you step out of the shower or are sitting on the toity. But oh man, unless you’re changing that carpet every two weeks, it is so not an ideal situation.
I make this plea to sellers with carpet in their bathroom: Continue Reading →
I was talking with local Realtor Monica Scott the other day about all the dolls we’ve seen in listings recently. Dolls on the couch in the living room. Dolls on the guest bed. Dolls in the bathroom. Tsk tsk tsk. I would like to say the Listing Agents are partly to blame, but I know these conversations can be difficult to have, especially when clients love their dolls. So I am going directly to you, The Public with this appeal to put the dolls away.
After 3 months of walkabout visiting friends and family across Europe, I’m back home in Tacoma, and back to work selling houses.
