Oh yeah. I’m going there. Long ago, before I was a Real Estate Agent, I was unaware that people carpeted bathrooms. It had never even occured to me to do this. The first time I saw it (A midcentury home with shag green carpet in the master bathroom) I giggled and stared. “Really!?” This is pretty much the reaction of buyers when we walk into a bathroom with carpet on the floor.
I get the pull. Something nice and soft on your feet when you step out of the shower or are sitting on the toity. But oh man, unless you’re changing that carpet every two weeks, it is so not an ideal situation.

I spent the weekend with my aunt and uncle in Dallas. As a treat they always take me on a tour of high end homes in Dallas. It’s always a lot of fun. This time I met a very cool Realtor named Carla who was nice enough to talk with me about the market there and answer some of my questions about the opulent homes they sell in that city.
She explained to me that the reason houses in Dallas are so over the top is because everyone has money and there is nothing to do. “Everyone goes shopping and makes their houses fabulous. There aren’t any lakes or mountains or other things to do.” Continue Reading →
