I have lived 45 of my 60 years in the east side. I spend my child hodd years here, and after 13 years in the navy I bought a house here 23 years ago.

Yes there have been trouble makers and then they move on. The police annex is not of much use as they close shop at night when they are needed.

My husband and I moved to the eastside a year and a half ago. We absolutely love the house we found and could not have hoped for anything better for our first house. The neighborhood is what you make out of it and we love it.

This has inspired me: I'm a single, 37-yr old girl that hasn't taken the plunge into home ownership yet! I've been looking for the past 4 months but mostly in the hilltop area and between 56th & 72nd on the west side of I-5. I hadn't really considered the east side. I've had offers on a couple places already which fell through (out-bid). My price range is also right up to 150K. Anyway, thanks for this post, I'm feeling a lot better now about what I'm trying to do.
